Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The CNA will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care across various clinical settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home health environments. Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and specimen collection.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Document patient information meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Facilitate patient transfers using appropriate methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to prevent injury.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address needs promptly.
Assist with medication administration under supervision when qualified and authorized.
Support specialized care needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, behavioral health support, and hospice services.
Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as Level I Trauma Center or ICU scenarios by applying critical care skills and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
Skills
Proven experience working as a CNA in diverse settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, or home health environments.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care best practices.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
Experience with specialized areas including ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics (including PICU), geriatrics, or behavioral health is highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; experience with manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts is preferred.
Strong communication skills for caregiving interactions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Certification in CPR/BLS; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges across various age groups.
Demonstrated capacity for compassionate caregiving combined with attention to detail in medical documentation.
