Requirements & Skills
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required
- Experience in inpatient clinical nutrition and nutrition assessment
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutritional care plans, and patient education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to accurately document patient care in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
- Current licensure or certification as required by state regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for hospitalized patients
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient nutrition therapy
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and nutrition standards of care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in inpatient clinical dietetics preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
