Requirements & Skills

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential is required
  • Experience in inpatient clinical nutrition and nutrition assessment
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutritional care plans, and patient education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to accurately document patient care in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
  • Current licensure or certification as required by state regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for hospitalized patients
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient nutrition therapy
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and nutrition standards of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in inpatient clinical dietetics preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to professional development and patient-centered care
