Required Skills and Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Proven experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care environment
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and protocols
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver high-quality nursing care
- Proficiency in using ICU-specific equipment and technology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary team environments
- Capability to respond effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced clinical settings
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, continuously monitoring and assessing patient status
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies following physician orders and established protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care and changes in condition promptly
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and changes in patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska
- Minimum of 1-2 years ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree is highly desirable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused approach
Hourly Rate: $63.00 - $74.00
