Requirements and Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
- Proven experience in critical care nursing, preferably within an ICU or SICU environment
- Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills in managing critically ill patients
- Excellent ability to operate advanced ICU monitoring and life support equipment
- Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and interacting with patients and families
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care practices
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill surgical patients in the SICU, including monitoring vital signs and managing complex medical equipment
- Assess patient conditions continuously, implement nursing interventions, and modify care plans as needed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining strict adherence to protocols and safety measures
- Document all aspects of nursing care accurately and timely in patient records
- Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures and post-ICU care when appropriate
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and participate in code teams when necessary
- Maintain infection control standards and promote a clean, safe, and supportive ICU environment
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in ICU nursing strongly preferred
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ranging from $63.00 to $74.00, with weekly pay through Quick2Hire.
