Requirements and Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
  • Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) nursing experience preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Proficient in patient care documentation and electronic medical record systems
  • Commitment to following state and federal healthcare regulations and standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to long-term care residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and side effects
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and enhance patient care
  • Educate residents and their families about health conditions, treatments, and care strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care and resident interactions
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean care environment
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and provide support during critical situations

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Wisconsin
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • Experience in long-term care nursing is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a commitment to quality care
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
