Requirements and Skills
- Current certification or licensure as a Cath Lab Technologist or equivalent credential
- Strong knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and patient care protocols
- Proficient in operating and maintaining cath lab equipment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Demonstrated experience in cardiac diagnostic imaging and assisting with interventional procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the catheterization laboratory, ensuring all equipment is fully functional and sterile
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures by operating diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide necessary support throughout procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient data
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and safety
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities within the cath lab
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and safety regulations to minimize risks to patients and staff
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technologist program or equivalent education
- Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent is highly preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab or similar clinical setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to maintain composure and provide high-quality patient care in fast-paced environments
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $75.00 - $89.00
