Join Our Team as an RN - Labor & Delivery in Mitchell, SD

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor & Delivery team at the QOP Women’s Center. Shift Information

  • NOC (Night) Shift
  • Structured schedule ensuring work-life balance

Requirements and Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota
  • Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in maternal and newborn care
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, including vital signs and fetal heart monitoring
  • Assist with deliveries and support physicians and midwives during procedures
  • Educate and support patients and families about labor, delivery, and infant care
  • Document all nursing care accurately and promptly in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical interventions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients and their families

Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Dakota
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • Prior Labor & Delivery experience highly preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory
  • Ability to work night shifts effectively
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care
