Requirements and Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota
- Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
- Strong clinical skills in maternal and newborn care
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and documentation
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, including vital signs and fetal heart monitoring
- Assist with deliveries and support physicians and midwives during procedures
- Educate and support patients and families about labor, delivery, and infant care
- Document all nursing care accurately and promptly in compliance with regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide critical interventions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients and their families
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Dakota
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
- Prior Labor & Delivery experience highly preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory
- Ability to work night shifts effectively
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care
