Shift & Schedule
- Day Shift: Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in ultrasound technology
- Proficient in charting using Epic system
- Certifications: ARDMS, ARDMS RVT, BLS, CCI, or RDCS (must hold at least one)
- Expertise in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations that include but are not limited to:
- OB/GYN Ultrasound: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, placenta previa
- Fetal Assessments: abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender determination, head, heart
- Neonatal Imaging: abdomen, duodenal atresia/intussusception, head, hips, renal, spine
- General Ultrasound: abdominal aorta, appendix, biliary tract, breast (required), gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen
- Vascular Studies: aorta, carotid, color flow, Doppler studies, duplex, lower extremity arterial and venous, M-mode, renal artery duplex, upper extremity arterial and venous
- Renal/Pelvis Scanning: bladder, hernia, ovaries, renal/bladder, transvaginal, uterus, vaginal
- Small Parts Ultrasound: breast (required), superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, thyroid
- Transplant Studies: liver and renal (both required)
- Demonstrated proficiency with ultrasound equipment, specifically GE models and PACS systems
- Familiarity with safety protocols including isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Advanced procedural skills: paracentesis and ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration (required)
- Additional skills in adult echocardiography including contrast echo and stress echo treadmill
- Ability to work across diverse clinical settings such as adult, emergency department, high-risk OB, ICU, obstetrics, pediatrics, and portable ultrasound settings
- No travel experience required for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound examinations as per physician orders and established protocols in multiple specialties: general, vascular, fetal, neonatal, and transplant studies
- Apply expert knowledge to capture high-quality imaging essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Utilize Epic electronic medical record system to document patient information, examination details, and procedural notes with precision and timeliness
- Adhere strictly to infection control, safety practices, and isolation precautions, ensuring patient and staff safety during all procedures
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, including GE and PACS systems, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness
- Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care and support clinical decision-making
- Perform specialized invasive procedures such as paracentesis and ultrasound-guided biopsies/fine needle aspirations under physician supervision
- Provide patient education and emotional support before, during, and after ultrasound examinations to enhance the patient experience
- Maintain professional competency through continuing education and adherence to regulatory and certification standards
Qualifications
- Must hold current ARDMS, ARDMS RVT, BLS, CCI, or RDCS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience consistent with job scope
- Proficiency using Epic charting system
- Demonstrated expertise in multispecialty ultrasound techniques including vascular, fetal, neonatal, and transplant imaging
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within scheduled shifts
