Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse – ICU Night Shift in Lubbock, TX

We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our ICU team on night shifts. Shift & Schedule

  • Nights – 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience
  • Proficient in Epic charting system
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required)
  • IV Therapy skills including arterial line management and central line care/management
  • Respiratory and thoracic care capabilities, including:
    • BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance
    • Care of ventilated patients
    • Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
    • Suctioning via endotracheal tube (ETT) and nasotracheal tube (NT)
  • Medication management expertise:
    • Continuous IV sedation administration
    • Titration of cardiac drips
    • Titration of vasoactive drips
  • Neurological care skills including:
    • Management of CVA/Acute Stroke patients
    • External ventricular drain (EVD) management
    • Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
    • Lumbar drain care
    • Post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response proficiency:
    • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
    • Care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Strong understanding of isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Additional surgical and neurological nursing skills
  • No travel experience required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered critical care in the ICU setting during night shifts
  • Administer and manage IV therapies, including arterial and central lines
  • Monitor and care for ventilated patients using advanced respiratory support techniques
  • Interpret ABGs and adjust care plans accordingly to optimize patient outcomes
  • Manage continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips in accordance with protocols
  • Deliver specialized neurological care including management of stroke, post-neurosurgical patients, and ICP monitoring
  • Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and handle emergent cardiac events with precision and urgency
  • Adhere to and enforce infection control policies, including proper use of PPE
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and comprehensive patient care
  • Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic electronic health records

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience with demonstrated proficiency in critical care skills
  • Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory
  • Competence in Epic electronic health records system
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to handle complex patient cases
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently during night shift hours

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $56.00 - $67.00
