About This Position

CNA- Activity Focused

Job Description

Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00

Floor Aide/CNA who will take on the lead role in activity planning and coordination. Responsible for planning, implementing, and participating in one-on-one, small group and large group activities and development of programming schedule.

Supports, encourages, and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups.

Improves the quality of life for guests by providing meaningful activities, outings (two per week), exercises, guest speakers, entertainers, etc.

Creates a Daily Activity Calendar and coordinates with other floor staff to decide who is leading each activity (shared responsibility) as well as a monthly activity calendar with entertainment/outings (6 weeks in advance) for caregivers, guests and staff planning purposes.

Elicits staff and guest input into activity planning, keeps activities upbeat and positive, well-organized and with variety.

Communicates any changes in our guest’s condition or behavior pattern to Nurse Aide Supervisor.

Assists in the production of a quality monthly newsletter on a timely basis.

Establish relationships with area businesses/community partners to ensure a positive experience for our guests.

Creates positive posts on social media to inform current and future caregivers of guest participation and involvement in activities.

Will also complete personal care duties, which include giving showers, hygiene and bathroom assistance. Assist with tours and new guest/caregiver orientations, meal preparation, light housekeeping, as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrates knowledge about residents regarding background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and attention span capability.

Must have a high school diploma and experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.

Must be motivated and excited to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals.

Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.

Shows an ability to relate to and perform job functions for the elderly/disabled in a positive and efficient manner.

Shows a consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks and works well under pressure.

Minimum age 21 (for driving/insurance purposes).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
