Duties
Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate life-saving interventions in high-pressure environments.
Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physiological evaluations, and medical history reviews.
Administer medications via IV infusion or injection with precision while monitoring for adverse reactions.
Perform advanced procedures such as suturing wounds, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), tube feeding management, and airway management.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Manage trauma cases within Level I or Level II trauma centers by applying trauma medicine protocols.
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed during all procedures.
Provide specialized care for populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Support discharge planning by coordinating post-emergency care needs such as hospice & palliative medicine or long-term care arrangements.
Requirements
Valid California RN license with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
Minimum of two years of ER experience in a hospital setting; experience working within trauma centers highly desirable.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures including ventilator management, ICD coding/diagnosis documentation (ICD-9/10), and acute pain management.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to emergency medicine.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients.
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
