About This Position
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in Lima, Ohio. This travel role involves providing specialized patient care in a telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms, and supporting patients who require continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring.
The Telemetry RN will care for adult patients with cardiac or medical-surgical conditions requiring close observation and rapid response to changes in patient status. This position follows 12-hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week and requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with the healthcare team.
Candidates must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license and meet applicable certification and experience requirements.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
Monitor telemetry readings and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms or vital signs
Assess patient conditions and implement appropriate nursing interventions
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols
Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment plans
Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and recovery expectations
Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and quality guidelines
Skills / Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States or compact state eligibility
Minimum 1–2 years of recent telemetry or medical-surgical telemetry experience
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred or required by facility
Strong ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data
Experience monitoring patients with cardiac conditions and post-procedural care needs
Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining high standards of care
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills
