About This Position
Urodynamics/Biofeedback Nurse will plan and provide professional application of Urodynamic studies and biofeedback treatment. They may be asked to train staff to assist with these urological studies. This position requires the Nurse to educate patients and caregivers in the testing and treatment process and provide educational paperwork/pamphlets when applicable. They will assist the marketing department when needed to market the Urodynamics and Biofeedback Programs to outside referral sources. Urodynamic Nurse will maintain quality improvement and assurance paperwork to facilitate the safety and outcomes of the patients. They will understand use of computer equipment, programming and its use in relation to the Urodynamics Studies and Biofeedback sessions completed at UroHealth Partners. They may be asked to float to other clinic areas if schedule permits.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Collects subjective and objective data in person or telephone. Communicates data to MD or Provider in a timely fashion and carries out orders efficiently and timely manner. Documents any conversations, changes in patient’s conditions, medication or prescriptions received, and plan of care in concise and logical manner.
2) Performs Urodynamics studies and Biofeedback sessions in an efficient and accurate manner.
3) Maintain a clean environment in the Urodynamic and Biofeedback procedure rooms.
4) Keep the Urodynamic and Biofeedback procedure rooms stocked with supplies.
5) Provides verbal and/or written education to the patient regarding Urodynamics or Biofeedback. If appropriate, will briefly review written education with patients during clinic time or if under time restraints, will mail education to the patient’s home or speak to the patient over the phone when performing reminder calls.
6) Consistently acts as a customer service representative for the clinic. Therefore, will seek out appropriate guidance and direction in the performance of responsibilities and duties. Demonstrate good judgment, and reasoning skills. Respectful rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments.
7) Will collaborate with Physician/Provider regarding test or treatment results. Communicates relevant information between doctor and patient regarding diagnosis, and diagnostic test results. Works with Physician/Provider to provide optimal patient outcomes.
8) Performs clinical actions consistent with established company policies/procedures, maintains acceptable standards of patient care in accordance to State and Federal regulations. Will complete clinic duties as outlined by the State’s scope of practice laws. Medical duties/procedures may include, but are not limited to, those listed on the nursing competency paperwork of which will be completed during the orientation phase of position.
9) Must work as a team member and perform actions consistent with established company policies and procedures including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Perform other duties as assigned.
