About This Position
Passport Health - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Travel Medicine | Omaha, NE
A specialty nursing role built around real patient consultations — not just check-the-box care.
Passport Health is North America's largest travel medicine and immunization provider, with 300+ clinics across the U.S. and Canada. We're looking for experienced LPNs who want to build specialized expertise in travel health and immunizations, working closely with a supportive clinical team.
What Makes This Role Different
You'll work under the direction of our clinical leadership team, but with far more variety and patient interaction than a typical LPN role. Travel medicine is a specialty — you'll build deep knowledge of vaccine-preventable diseases, international health risks, and pre-travel planning that most LPNs never get exposure to. Every visit is a real consultation, not a rushed check-in.
Current Opening Details
Location: Omaha, NE 68114
Employment Type: Part-time / 24 hours a week
Compensation: $26.00 - $27.00
Weekly Hours & Schedule: Mondays & Fridays required (weekly), Bi-weekly Saturdays required
What You'll Do
Support travel health consultations and help educate clients on destination-specific health risks
Administer vaccines per standing orders and under the direction of supervising clinical staff, monitoring for adverse reactions
Assist with clinic setup, inventory, and compliance with safety and documentation protocols
Support onsite corporate wellness or vaccine clinic events as needed
Complete ongoing travel medicine training — we invest in keeping your clinical knowledge current
Scheduling — What to Expect
We build schedules 6–12 months out, so you get real visibility instead of week-to-week guessing. Hours flex with client demand and season — peak travel season (Feb–Aug) typically brings the highest, most stable volume and nurses with weekend flexibility or willingness to cover more than one location tend to see their hours grow fastest.
What You Need to Succeed
Active LPN license in good standing
Compact (multistate) LPN licensure accepted, where applicable — must legally reside in the licensed/practicing state
Clinical nursing experience preferred (travel medicine background a plus, not required)
Strong patient communication and education skills
Reliable personal computer (training systems require desktop or laptop) and Google Suite proficiency
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Ability to lift and transport vaccine inventory as needed (up to 25 lbs)
Ideal For Nurses Who
Want specialty clinical experience beyond the standard LPN scope
Are reliable for weekend coverage and open to some scheduling flexibility
Enjoy patient education and one-on-one consultations
