About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care across diverse healthcare settings in,. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including experience in complex medical environments such as critical care, cardiology, and emergency medicine. This role offers the opportunity to deliver specialized rehabilitation nursing services to patients recovering from various conditions, ensuring optimal outcomes through comprehensive assessments, tailored interventions, and collaborative care planning. The Travel Rehab RN will be instrumental in supporting patients' recovery journeys while adapting to different facility protocols and EMR systems.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and functional evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and botulinum toxin treatments with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Manage complex cases involving trauma medicine, ICU, PICU, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and acute pain management.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and assisted living centers to coordinate patient care.
Document medical records accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide patient education on recovery processes, medication administration, wound care (including ostomy care), and mobility assistance.
Support infection control practices and participate in discharge planning to facilitate seamless transitions from hospital to home or community-based settings.
Requirements
Valid nursing license and certification.
A minimum of 1 recent year as a Rehab RN and 2 years of RN experience
Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months.
Ability to respond and arrive on-site within one hour when called.
Floating to different units as needed.
Weekend rotation availability.
Successful completion of background check.
Successful completion of drug screen.
Valid driver's license or state ID.
Ability to work 36 hours per week.
Appropriate professional licenses and certifications related to RN MCU specialty.
COVID-19 vaccination status (not mandatory for submission, but required for onboarding).
Telemetry experience.
Experience providing care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and psychiatric patients.
Experience delivering care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Demonstrated interaction skills with patients, significant others, and health team members.
