About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Iowa. This vital role involves providing specialized nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab, supporting complex cardiovascular procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, excellent assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angiography, and other interventional cardiology procedures.
Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes, obtaining informed consent, and ensuring comfort and safety.
Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and sedation levels throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
Assist physicians with invasive procedures, including catheter placement, stent deployment, and other minimally invasive interventions.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all procedures.
Document patient assessments, procedural details, and post-procedure care accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Educate patients on post-procedure care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and long-term health.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Requirements
Valid RN license
Must have a minimum of 1 recent year as a Cath Lab RN and 2 years of RN experience
Previous experience working within hospital or cardiovascular lab settings may be advantageous but not explicitly required.
Certification as RN Cath Lab.
Flexible shift availability, primarily day shift from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM.
Availability to work 40 hours per week, with guaranteed hours.
Willingness to be on call 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend on call.
