About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) to provide exceptional patient care in Alabama. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in acute and critical care, with experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and outpatient clinics. This role offers an exciting opportunity to travel across various healthcare environments, delivering vital nursing services while adapting to different patient populations and clinical demands. The Travel PCU RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and wound care following aseptic techniques.
Manage complex cases involving acute pain, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and post-operative recovery.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of diagnostic imaging like CT scans or sonography.
Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, and memory care patients.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams on discharge planning, case management, and compliance with regulatory standards such as NCQA or HIPAA.
Maintain proficiency in emergency procedures including airway management, ventilator support, and trauma response within Level I or Level II trauma centers.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of current experience in the specified skill set.
Availability for 13-week assignments only.
Ability to float to like units as needed.
Experience with Cerner.
