We are seeking an experienced clinician who is passionate about infectious diseases and LGBTQ+ health to join our expanding clinical team.
Position Summary
Healthcare Unity Group is seeking a 1099 Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide telemedicine-based HIV prevention, HIV treatment, and Hepatitis C care.
The ideal candidate is comfortable managing PrEP, PEP, HIV treatment, sexually transmitted infections, and Hepatitis C while providing affirming, patient-centered care.
This is an independent contractor position with flexible scheduling and the opportunity to become part of one of the nation's fastest-growing HIV-focused telemedicine organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Active, unrestricted license in:
New Jersey
New York
Florida
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain where required)
Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience treating and preventing:
HIV
Hepatitis C
Experience prescribing and managing:
PrEP
PEP
Antiretroviral therapy (ART)
Experience interpreting HIV and Hepatitis C laboratory testing
Knowledge of CDC, DHHS, and AASLD/IDSA treatment guidelines
Comfortable providing care through telemedicine
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
AAHIVS Certification (preferred)
Experience working in Ryan White, FQHC, public health, or LGBTQ+ health settings
Experience managing sexually transmitted infections
Experience using electronic health records
Multi-state licensure beyond NJ, NY, and FL is a plus
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients for HIV prevention and treatment services
Initiate and manage:
Oral PrEP
Injectable PrEP
PEP
HIV antiretroviral therapy
Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections
Evaluate and treat Hepatitis C
Order and interpret laboratory testing
Provide patient education and adherence counseling
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with HUG's multidisciplinary care team
Practice according to current CDC, DHHS, USPSTF, and AASLD guidelines
