What You Will Do
As an Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in the delivery of timely, high-quality emergency care. Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and potentially life-threatening conditions
Ordering and interpreting laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment, stabilization, admission, transfer, and discharge plans
Performing advanced clinical procedures and emergency interventions within your approved scope of practice and demonstrated competencies
Responding quickly and effectively to critical or rapidly changing patient conditions
Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other members of the healthcare team
Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and preventive health
Completing accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Supporting patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical excellence initiatives
Serving as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff and students, as appropriate
What You Bring
Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited advanced practice nursing program
Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice
Current national Nurse Practitioner board certification
Previous experience practicing as a provider in an Emergency Department is required
Minimum of three years of Nurse Practitioner experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
DEA registration and prescriptive authority, as required
Strong emergency assessment, stabilization, diagnostic, and procedural skills
Sound clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
Excellent communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
A patient-centered approach and a commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care
