About This Position
Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel CVPIC RN (Certified Vocational/Clinical Practice Intensive Care Registered Nurse) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing expertise, including critical care, ophthalmology, and emergency medicine, with a strong focus on delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in diverse environments. This role offers the opportunity to work in dynamic settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health programs, supporting patients through complex medical needs with professionalism and precision.
Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's condition and needs.
Administer medications and treatments including IV infusions, suturing, botulinum toxin treatments, and other specialized procedures.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Assist with diagnostic evaluations including CT scans, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging procedures.
Manage acute pain and chronic conditions within hospital or outpatient settings, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety.
Support patients with complex needs such as those requiring dialysis, ventilator management, or tube feeding; work with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in trauma centers (Level I & II), ICU units, PICUs, or emergency rooms to deliver timely and effective care.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of infection control and aseptic technique during all procedures.
Provide patient education on medication administration, health coaching, discharge planning, and post-acute care instructions.
Participate in case management activities including triage assessments, discharge planning, and coordination of home & community care services.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in all specialties (3+ years preferred) and 1 recent year CVPICU experience
At least one completed previous travel assignment
Active RN license in the state or a valid compact license
Experience with Cerner charting system (preferred)
Willingness to work during end-of-year holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) as specified
Compliance with all Tier2 travel requirements
Ability to meet facility's strict eligibility standards before submission
No call-in policy; candidate must adhere to communication instructions
Certified for Pediatrics experience
Vaccination status (specifically Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required)
For local travel consideration: Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
BSN degree (preferred)
Pediatrics experience (required)
Experience in a Level I Pediatrics Trauma Center or similar hospital units
Experience with patient ratios, charting systems, and interdisciplinary support relevant to pediatric ICU
Experience with travel assignments
Ability to adapt to the hospital environment and handling pediatric patient diagnoses
Certification renewals planned and listed clearly if expiring during assignment
Flexibility to accommodate scheduling preferences during interview
