Responsibilities
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques.
Monitor vital signs regularly and recognize signs of health changes or emergencies, responding promptly with appropriate first aid or CPR when necessary.
Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accurately using MAR.
Support residents with cognitive disabilities such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care strategies and behavior management techniques.
Operate standard passenger vehicles safely for resident outings or appointments, ensuring compliance with all driving regulations.
Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and ensuring adherence to infection control standards.
Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care plans and update on residents’ well-being.
Requirements
Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings with a focus on geriatrics or long-term care.
Strong background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in medication administration and safe patient lifting is highly preferred.
Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and manual handling; capable of supporting residents during transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe transportation duties.
