About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional urgent care services in Alabama. The ideal candidate will possess extensive emergency nursing experience, including working within Level I and Level II trauma centers, and demonstrate proficiency in managing acute patient needs in fast-paced environments. As a Travel ER RN, you will deliver comprehensive patient assessments, administer critical treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on severity of conditions.
Provide emergency interventions including airway management, IV infusion, suturing, and aseptic techniques to stabilize patients.
Administer medications and treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy, pain management protocols, and infectious disease care.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory experience, medical imaging (e.g., sonography), and vital signs monitoring.
Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, ICU care, trauma medicine, and hospice & palliative medicine.
Manage complex cases involving trauma, critical care transport, dialysis patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia.
Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort.
Requirements
Valid RN license with current state licensure; prior experience working in emergency room settings is required.
Must have a minimum of 1 year Emergency Room RN experience and 2 years of RN experience
Must have travel experience
Cerner experience required
Must have End of Week availability
Demonstrated expertise in emergency medicine procedures including airway management, IV insertion, suturing, and aseptic technique.
Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers; ICU experience is highly valued.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation, and medication administration protocols.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities.
Additional skills such as cardiocatherization support, infectious disease care, post-acute care experience, or home & community care are a plus.
