Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring TX or compact RN license and ortho Mako, GYN, and sports medicine experience.
Details
Work in the Operating Room unit of a surgical hospital
Patient ratio of 1:1
Day shift schedule (5x8 hours, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Floating between units required
On-call required for weekday nights, weekends, and holidays
No weekend shift requirement
Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
Requirements
Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
Teaching hospital experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Ortho Mako Surgical System experience required
Experience with Gynecology, Sports Medicine, and Ortho Total Joints procedures required
Previous charge experience preferred
Skilled in procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, ALIF, cervical and lumbar fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, arthrotomy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reductions, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and cystoscopy
Proficient in administration of blood and blood products, infection control, specimen handling, peripheral IV starts, universal protocol time-out procedures, and urinary catheterization
Experience with electrosurgical units, Hana table, Steris, robotics, and Mako Surgical System equipment
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required prior to start
Additional Information
Perform circulating and scrub RN duties across general, orthopedic, gynecologic, neurologic, and urologic surgical cases
Support emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia procedures
First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a lower bill rate
RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem staff
