Schedule: Full-Time, 36 Hours per Week
Hours: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Position Summary
Columbus Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiology Clinic team. This position works collaboratively with cardiologists, the clinic APRN, and the medical team to provide high-quality outpatient cardiac care. The RN will play a key role in patient assessment, education, care coordination, and treatment management while supporting patients throughout their cardiac care journey.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care and comprehensive assessment of cardiac conditions in an outpatient clinic setting.
Monitor and document vital signs, patient assessments, and triage needs.
Perform ordered treatments and assist with routine office procedures.
Conduct EKG testing and Zio monitor placement.
Manage anticoagulation therapy and monitoring.
Educate patients and family members regarding cardiac conditions, treatments, medications, and pre- and post-procedure care.
Assist with prescription management and medication-related follow-up.
Coordinate patient care, including referrals, diagnostic testing, therapeutic testing results, scheduling needs, and follow-up appointments.
Obtain and manage prior authorizations with insurance carriers.
Communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Required:
Current Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS, ACLS (ALS), and CPR certifications.
Strong organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Positive, friendly, and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred:
Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting.
Cardiac nursing experience.
Knowledge of anticoagulation management and cardiac diagnostic procedures.
