Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Support clinical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and specimen collection (including phlebotomy) following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior to nursing staff promptly to facilitate appropriate interventions.
Help with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts and assist with positioning to prevent pressure ulcers or discomfort.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection prevention standards and ensuring proper medical documentation.
Engage with patients across diverse settings including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals (including ICU and trauma centers), hospice care, pediatric units, behavioral health facilities, and home care environments.
Requirements
Valid CNA certification from an accredited program with current licensure in the relevant state or region.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse patient populations such as seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, memory care needs, or behavioral health conditions.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
Prior experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, sub-acute or post-acute care facilities is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine units or urgent care clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.
