Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support our nursing team in providing exceptional patient care across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, comprehensive clinical expertise, and a passion for fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This role offers an opportunity to oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote nursing excellence within our facility.
Responsibilities
Assist the Nurse Manager in coordinating nursing operations, staffing schedules, and resource allocation to maintain optimal patient care delivery.
Supervise nursing staff, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing education to enhance team skills and morale.
Ensure adherence to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) policies, state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and safety standards across all nursing activities.
Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and medical documentation accuracy.
Facilitate communication between interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans effectively.
Support clinical procedures such as IV insertion, catheter care, and basic life support protocols.
Promote infection control practices and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, incident investigations, and compliance audits to uphold high standards of care.
Qualifications
Valid nursing license with current registration; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience working in an ASC preferred.
Experience in PreOp/PACU/OR
Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting; prior nurse management or supervisory roles highly desirable.
Extensive clinical expertise including critical care experience, medical-surgical skills, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA.
Strong understanding of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and patient assessment procedures.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive work environment.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
