About the Role
As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, you'll provide expert nursing care to premature infants and newborns experiencing respiratory distress, congenital conditions, infections, and other complex medical challenges. You'll monitor patient status, administer treatments, collaborate with neonatal care teams, and support families throughout the infant's journey of care.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, compassion, and the ability to thrive in high-acuity healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care for premature and critically ill newborns
Monitor vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall neonatal condition
Administer medications, IV therapies, nutritional support, and specialized treatments
Assist with ventilator management and respiratory support therapies
Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
Support feeding, developmental care, and neonatal rehabilitation efforts
Educate and support parents and family members throughout the care process
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Follow evidence-based neonatal care practices and hospital protocols
Minimum Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
