About This Position

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team within a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, exceptional leadership abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and patient care standards. As Nurse Manager, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and foster a culture of excellence in patient care. Your role is vital in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing staffing, and maintaining high-quality service delivery across various care settings.

Duties

Provides leadership for assigned staff in accordance with the organizations culture and strategic objectives. Demonstrates practices consistent with evidence-based practice on leadership.

A. Manages the unit(s) in a customer-oriented manner which promotes the standard of service excellence and results in patient, family, provider, and employee satisfaction.

B. Develops delegation, prioritization, and critical thinking skills of staff.

C. Actively supports the development of the strategic/business plans envisions all levels of management and staff.

D. Fosters staff participation and accountability for patient care through involvement, role model and mentoring.

E. Ensures staff accountability for carrying out departmental policies.

F. Completes assignment without supervision and appropriately identifies issues with resolution. Supports the strategic objectives and meets targets.

G. Ensures staff is evaluated per policy and performance management is utilized appropriately for workforce performance issues.

H. Maintains knowledge of standards in professional practice by reviewing current literature.

2. PATIENT CARE/PATIENT SAFETY: Develops, manages and maintains a system of delivering appropriate quality and cost-effective services to promote confidence and support the patients and that meets all regulatory requirements including patient safety standards.

A. Provides leadership through planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating patient care.

B. Ensures all medical record documentation meets the required level of accuracy and compliance.

C. Collaborates with the care team to ensure that patient education and case management needs are addressed using an interdisciplinary approach that meets the patient's needs.

D. Ensures the processes of referring for treatments, medication, and diagnostic tests are facilitated.

E. Monitors and promotes adherence to acceptable wait times.

F. Maintains current knowledge of governmental and regulatory rules in order to ensure that internal policies conform to related rules and regulations.

G. Ensures that patient care and safety performance measures meet target.

H. Proactively develops, implements and maintains systems and environment to support customer service to all served. Achieves customer service targets as identified by the organization.

3. QUALITY: Maintains the facility's programs for evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care and standards of practice to assure compliance with regulatory agencies and strategic plans.

A. Assures that level of care and documentation complies with policies, procedures, and standards of care.

B. Demonstrates measurable improvement in unit's performance. Achieves quality targets as identified by the organization.

C. Maintains compliance with the Jessie Trice Community Health System’s (JTCHS) professional standards and regulatory agencies.

D. Develops and monitors indicators to ensure quality outcomes.

DETAILS OF EDUCATION AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s degree in nursing; Master’s Degree Preferred

· Three (3) years of related experience in physician practices and/or community health

· State of Florida Registered Nurse

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (E.G. ABLITY TO SPEAK FOREIGN LANGUAGE, LICENSE, ETC.)

· Basic Life Support (BLS)

· Basic Computer Proficiency
