About This Position
Overview
Neuro Nurses (RN) treat patients with neurological injuries and disorders, including head and spinal trauma from accidents, or illnesses such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Perform typical procedures to help patients recover behavioral, physical, and cognitive abilities. Provide pre-operative and post-operative care. Neuro RN exhibits a high level of patience and sensitivity, as patients mentally function on different levels
Requirements
One year of recent Neuro experience and 2 years of RN experience
Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
Ability to apply nursing techniques.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Some computer skills.
Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a Board Approved Program.
