About This Position
JOB DUTIES
Escorts patients to exam rooms.
Assesses vital signs accurately alerting providers to any abnormalities.
Reviews medications accurately and provides documentation in chart of current medication list and dosing.
Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
Organizes patient charts for next day to include researching and obtaining patient medical information in compliance with HIPPAA laws.
Provides verbal education as well as educational materials to patients and families.
Communicates information to physician to maintain continuity of care and alerts physician of any new developments in regards to his/her patient.
Performs patient care actions consistent with established policies and procedures within scope of practice and under the direction of physician and nurse.
Maintains patient confidentiality and is compliant with the HIPAA regulations.
Performs blood draws as ordered utilizing clean technique and universal safety precautions.
Other duties as assigned.Education
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED required
A certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant Program or Certified Nurse Assistant Program required
Medical terminology and pharmacology background preferred.
Experience :
Prior nurse aide/nurse assistant work experience in clinic or hospital preferred
