Position Details
Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week
Contract Length: 6 months
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Training Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for the first 5 weeks
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join a healthcare team in Lubbock, Texas. In this role, you will provide direct patient care and perform a variety of vocational nursing duties under the supervision of the Unit Registered Nurse (RN) and Unit Nurse Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LVN who enjoys providing hands-on patient care and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring ongoing support.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients.
Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments.
Provide medication education to patients as appropriate.
Complete accurate and timely patient documentation.
Perform computer data entry; full training will be provided.
Monitor patient needs and communicate changes to the supervising RN and Nurse Manager.
Perform advanced nursing skills, including care involving gastrostomy tubes and enteral feedings, Foley catheters, tracheostomies, and related patient-care needs.
Follow established nursing procedures, safety standards, and facility policies.
Requirements
Valid Texas LVN license required.
At least 1 year of direct-care nursing experience; 2 or more years preferred.
Experience with advanced patient-care skills such as gastrostomy tubes, enteral feedings, Foley catheters, and tracheostomies preferred.
Valid photo ID.
Current TB documentation.
Current CPR certification.
Ability to successfully complete a urine drug screen and background check.
Ability to successfully complete an FBI fingerprint background check.
COVID-19 testing with a negative result is required; testing will be provided.
Schedule and Training
The primary schedule is 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a requirement to work every other weekend. Shifts may alternate based on staffing needs.
During the first 5 weeks, the position will require Monday through Friday training from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Training is designed to help you become familiar with the facility, patient population, procedures, and documentation requirements.
