Job Overview
ClearConnect Health Services LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and independently licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT) to join our growing outpatient mental health practice as a part-time 1099 independent contractor.
This is a remote/telehealth position serving patients throughout Virginia. The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of outpatient mental health concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma-related conditions, adjustment difficulties, grief, stress, relationship concerns, and other behavioral health needs.
The therapist will provide psychotherapy independently within the scope of their professional license while having the opportunity to collaborate with ClearConnect's psychiatric providers when patients are also receiving medication management.
ClearConnect offers flexible scheduling, administrative and scheduling support, patient referral opportunities, insurance credentialing support, and an established psychiatric practice in which the therapist can develop and grow a psychotherapy caseload.
We are looking for a therapist who values compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care and is comfortable working independently while collaborating with other mental health professionals when appropriate.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive behavioral health and psychosocial assessments.
Assess presenting concerns, symptoms, functioning, strengths, and treatment needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable and clinically appropriate treatment goals.
Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based therapeutic approaches appropriate to each patient's diagnosis, needs, and treatment goals.
Provide therapeutic interventions for ADHD and executive-functioning difficulties, including organization, time management, emotional regulation, behavioral strategies, coping skills, and related anxiety or depression.
Provide psychotherapy for anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, trauma-related conditions, adjustment difficulties, grief, stress, relationship concerns, and other appropriate outpatient mental health conditions.
Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed interventions, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, exposure-based interventions when appropriately trained, and trauma-informed care.
Monitor symptoms, functioning, treatment response, and progress toward established treatment goals.
Utilize appropriate behavioral health screening and assessment tools when clinically indicated.
Assess for suicide/self-harm risk, violence risk, substance use, and other safety concerns and respond appropriately within professional scope.
Develop safety plans and initiate appropriate crisis escalation or referrals when clinically indicated.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely assessments, treatment plans, psychotherapy notes, and other required clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
Review and update treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical need.
Coordinate care with ClearConnect psychiatric medication-management providers when clinically appropriate and authorized by the patient.
Communicate significant clinical concerns to appropriate members of the patient's treatment team.
Refer patients to higher levels of care, substance-use treatment, psychological or neuropsychological testing, community resources, or other specialty services when clinically appropriate.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, professional ethical standards, applicable Virginia regulations, and ClearConnect policies and procedures.
Practice independently within the scope of professional licensure, training, and clinical competence.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or another applicable behavioral health discipline.
Current, active, unrestricted Virginia license in good standing as a:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Other qualifying independently licensed behavioral health professional may be considered.
Must be authorized to independently provide psychotherapy to patients located in Virginia.
Strong clinical assessment, psychotherapy, treatment-planning, and documentation skills.
Knowledge of DSM-based mental health diagnoses and evidence-based psychotherapy approaches.
Ability to assess and appropriately respond to behavioral health safety concerns.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Comfortable providing psychotherapy through telehealth.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with psychiatric providers when appropriate.
Reliable internet connection and access to a private, professional environment appropriate for confidential telehealth sessions.
Preferred
1+ year of outpatient mental health experience.
Previous experience providing psychotherapy through telehealth.
Experience treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma-related disorders, adjustment disorders, grief, stress, and relationship concerns.
Experience providing therapeutic interventions for ADHD and executive-functioning difficulties.
Experience using evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, particularly CBT.
Experience working with patients who also receive psychiatric medication management.
Experience collaborating with psychiatric or other behavioral health providers as part of coordinated patient care.
Experience using electronic health records and completing clinical documentation in a timely manner.
Currently credentialed with commercial insurance plans or willing to participate in ClearConnect's credentialing process.
