About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse (CCU RN) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings in. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, including ICU and trauma center expertise, and demonstrate proficiency with advanced nursing procedures. As a Travel CCU RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services, support complex medical interventions, and ensure optimal patient outcomes in dynamic environments. Responsibilities
Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in the CCU, utilizing comprehensive assessment and monitoring techniques.
Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety.
Perform complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization assistance, ventilator management, and sterile dressing changes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with best practices and hospital standards.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Support emergency response efforts in trauma or Level I/II trauma centers, demonstrating expertise in airway management and acute pain control.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and post-acute care needs while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Requirements
1 recent year of CCU nursing experience and 2 years of RN experience
Cardiac ICU experience
Licensure: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
Certification: BLS and ACLS certification through AHA.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (preferred)
Epic EMR experience.
Working knowledge of disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
Attention to detail in examining clinical and numerical data.
Decision-making: Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning and minor decision-making in a complex professional setting.
Collaboration skills working directly with patients, healthcare professionals, and external/internal customers.
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) (preferred)
Knowledge of Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO) (preferred)
Experience with Swan-Ganz catheter (preferred)
