Duties
Prepare and assist patients during complex procedures such as catheterizations, IV insertions, and endoscopic interventions.
Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, providing immediate intervention when necessary.
Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems), including detailed medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, trauma medicine, and critical care to facilitate seamless procedural workflows.
Manage patient assessments pre- and post-procedure, including vital signs, physical examinations, and pain management strategies.
Assist with specimen collection, laboratory processing, and diagnostic evaluations to support comprehensive patient care.
Skills
Proven experience working with diverse patient populations across settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and assisted living communities.
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and medical records management.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe procedure execution.
Skilled in performing advanced nursing procedures
Ability to work efficiently within fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Excellent communication skills for effective triage assessments, patient education, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
