Responsibilities
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track residents’ health status
Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities
Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care and report any changes or concerns promptly
Skills
Proven experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, retirement homes, or personal care homes
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response procedures including first aid certification
Skilled in assisting with ADLs, personal care routines, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts
Excellent communication skills for working with residents’ families and team members
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
