Job Summary

Duties

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe patient lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.

Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track health status.

Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures.

Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques.

Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring dietary needs are met in accordance with care plans.

Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure personalized care plans are followed and needs are addressed promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is a plus.

Knowledge of ADLs assistance, dementia care, memory care, and geriatrics is essential.

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training in safe patient lifting practices is a plus.

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments enhances your ability to provide comprehensive care.

Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude are vital for building trusting relationships with residents.

Physical capability to handle tasks safely throughout your shift.
