Requirements & Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota
- Experience in oncology nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of radiation oncology procedures and protocols advantageous
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities
- Administer nursing care to oncology patients undergoing radiation therapy
- Monitor patient condition and response to treatment, reporting any changes promptly
- Provide patient education regarding treatments, side effect management, and supportive care
- Collaborate with physicians, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in managing symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and its treatment
- Support patients and families emotionally while navigating complex treatments
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the State of South Dakota
- Prior oncology nursing experience preferred but not mandatory
- Completion of accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
