About This Position
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team for evening shifts from 2 PM to 10 PM. Responsibilities
Assist residents and patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents with dementia or memory care needs, utilizing specialized Alzheimer’s and behavioral health care techniques.
Assist with patient transfers using safe transfer methods and equipment such as patient lifts or transfer boards; ensure safety protocols are followed during all movements.
Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical documentation systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as ICU or emergency medicine units to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
Requirements
Valid CNA certification with current state licensure; prior experience working in long-term care facilities or assisted living environments is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and basic life support (BLS) certification required.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) systems for accurate medical documentation.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively using proper lifting practices; experience with Hoyer lifts is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
