Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile field support
- Verify appropriate supplies, instruments, and equipment are available, functioning, and set up according to case needs
- Support instrument passing and circulating tasks as assigned to help ensure smooth case flow
- Maintain accurate counts and documentation per protocol and as required during surgical procedures
- Help uphold infection prevention practices throughout the case and during turnover activities
- Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled and report to assigned shifts on time
Requirements
- Current Surgical Technician certification (or certification required for practice)
- Experience working as a Surgical Technician in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical equipment/instrument handling
- Ability to follow facility and departmental policies and safety protocols
