Job Description

UW Medical Center-Montlake - 4S Outpatient Infusion has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager (job profile: Registered Nurse 3). This is a supervisory position reporting to our Nurse Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full time / 40 hours per week

Must be available to work day shifts Monday-Friday

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

4S Outpatient Infusion is the largest infusion floor at the UW Medical Centers, offering 32 beds, specialized procedure recovery services, and infusion therapy for a broad spectrum of patients. This is a great opportunity to lead a dedicated outpatient team that always put their patients first.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises day-to-day clinic operations

Oversees patient care delivery, promotes staff development, and serves as a resource for clinical practice, quality improvement, and operational decision-making

Monitors patient care delivery, discharge planning, and clinical outcomes to promote safe, effective, and coordinated care

Facilitates daily staffing and scheduling processes, prioritizes resources, and promotes efficient clinic workflows

Identifies and resolves operational issues, including unplanned staffing challenges, patient flow concerns, and service-related barriers

Provides clinical expertise, problem-solving support, and guidance to staff

Ensures staff are appropriately oriented, trained, and competent to perform assigned responsibilities

Serves as a role model and resource for clinical practice, change management, and professional conduct

Provides coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to staff through education, feedback, real-time problem solving, and professional development opportunities

Promotes adherence to established workflows, policies, and clinical expectations

When needed, provides direct patient care consistent with RN standards, competencies, and scope of practice. This includes performing patient triage, chart preparation, and complex case management

REQUIREMENTS

2 years of medical-surgical, infusion, or ambulatory nursing experience

Previous lead, supervisory, or management experience

Strong IV skills

Previous infusion experience

Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Active BLS

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:
$50.72 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$93.06 hourly
Other Compensation:
BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
Certification premium - $1.25/hour
