Duties
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories.
Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management in accordance with physicians’ orders.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information thoroughly and efficiently.
Provide specialized care in areas such as critical care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or hospice & palliative medicine based on your expertise.
Assist with diagnostic procedures like catheterization, suturing, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and imaging techniques such as sonography or mammography.
Manage complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, long-term care, memory care, or behavioral health with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies and coordinate post-acute or home & community care services.
Requirements
Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
Proven experience working with electronic health records (EHR systems)
Strong clinical skills including IV insertion, aseptic technique, airway management, ventilator support, and pain management procedures.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
Ability to perform physical examinations and patient assessments with attention to detail and compassion.
Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities; geriatrics and dementia care experience is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, medical documentation, discharge instructions, and team collaboration.
