About This Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Clinical Toxicology Scientist to perform moderate complexity toxicological testing, and support the clinic physicians and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, toxicology, or a related field, with expertise in laboratory techniques and regulatory compliance. Our company is growing and we have plans to expand our laboratory, so there is opportunity for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform qualitative analysis of urine specimens, using a Beckman Coulter AU680. The lab has future goals to grow into quantitative analysis of specimens using LC-MS.

Interpret and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CLIA regulatory standards.

Work with Laboratory Director and Technical Consultant to ensure proper execution of laboratory SOPs.

Oversight and management of the laboratory accession team.

Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

Collaborate with clinic teams to support diagnostic outcomes.

Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to healthcare providers.

Ensure adherence to quality control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Stay updated on advancements in toxicology and analytical methodologies.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a current California license for MLT or CLS.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field (PhD preferred but not required).

Preferred 1+ years of experience in clinical toxicology or analytical chemistry, but newly licensed candidates will be considered.

Proficiency in operating and maintaining analytical instruments.

Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, or other laboratory regulatory standards.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with a Beckman Coulter AU680 Analyzer.

Familiarity with forensic toxicology.

Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and data analysis software.

Laboratory management, including oversight of a laboratory team.

Base Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
