We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) who is passionate about providing exceptional care for our residents while supporting clinical leadership and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the Director of Nursing in the overall management and supervision of nursing services, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination of the nursing team. This position assists in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care and steps into the DON role as needed.

This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current, active RN license

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including experience in long-term care or skilled nursing

Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team

Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records

Preferred

Previous experience as an ADON, Unit Manager, or Charge Nurse in a skilled nursing setting

Knowledge of CMS, state, and federal long-term care regulations

Familiarity with survey readiness and QAPI processes

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department's daily operations

Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management support

Ensure resident care is delivered in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies

Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance

Assist with staffing coverage and step in clinically as needed

Support infection control practices and ensure adherence to safety protocols

Participate in survey preparation and regulatory compliance efforts

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including therapy, social services, dietary, and MDS/care planning staff

Support Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives

Investigate and help resolve resident, family, and staff concerns

Assume Director of Nursing responsibilities in their absence

Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records

Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
