About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in stepdown and acute care settings, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex medical cases with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and recovery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, delivering specialized nursing services across diverse patient populations while supporting hospital operations and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care units to less acute settings, ensuring smooth clinical progression.
Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and perform detailed physical examinations to identify changes requiring intervention.
Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist with diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory specimen collection and processing, imaging procedures like CT scans, and other assessments.
Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication administration, and discharge instructions to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
Support patients with complex conditions such as cardiac issues, infectious diseases, respiratory problems requiring ventilator management, or post-surgical care.
Participate in triage activities within emergency or urgent care settings, prioritizing patient needs efficiently.
Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a RN
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty (Registered Nurse, Step down)
At least 1 completed previous travel assignment
Active RN license in the state of Tennessee or a valid compact license
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
Willingness to work weekends and holidays as required
Must be at least 50 miles from the facility
