About This Position
Overview
Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) are responsible for monitoring patients throughout labor and serve as the primary point of contact for family members. L&D RNs monitor the baby’s heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn. L&D RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV, and central lines
Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered
Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care
Requirements
Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant nursing experience.
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
1 year of recent RN experience in the specialty applying for.
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certificate.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Advanced Provider or Instructor certification.
