Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Tele RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Details
Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Short Term Acute Care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center designation
Care for a neuro and telemetry patient population, including stroke, craniotomy, and post-neurosurgery cases
Patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
Weekend work required, approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Floating between units and sister facilities within the state may be required
No on-call responsibilities
Uses telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at submission
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and non-invasive airway management required
Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and post-TPA care preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team utilization
Manage patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions such as aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, and substance withdrawal
Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Free parking available in designated employee/visitor surface lots
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
