Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
1:3 patient ratios
night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
required to work 6 weekends per 6-week period
no on-call responsibilities
no floating between units required, though floating between sister facilities may be expected
Epic EMR experience required
block scheduling approved but not required
Requirements
active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of submission
minimum 2 years of ED experience required (hardstop requirement)
certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
community hospital experience required
Epic charting system experience required
experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management
experience with neurological conditions including CVA
experience with isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and medication administration including IV vasopressors
experience with cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs/Leads
teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
previous charge experience preferred
Additional Information
work in a stroke-certified facility with cardiac monitoring and emergency response capabilities
must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire for licensed nursing personnel
free parking available in designated surface lots
first-time travelers welcome to apply if they hold over 2 years of ED experience
candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel pay rate, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

minimal RTO requests accepted and must be submitted upfront during the application process
