About This Position
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse (CCU RN) to provide exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex medical cases, including cardiac, trauma, and infectious disease scenarios. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in dynamic environments such as hospitals, trauma centers, and outpatient facilities, delivering vital nursing services to diverse patient populations. The successful applicant will be committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care while adapting to different clinical settings during travel assignments.
Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients in the CCU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators.
Perform advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization support, suturing, and IV infusion management with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory experience and medical terminology knowledge.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with hospital protocols and NCQA standards.
Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions and coordinate with case management for discharge planning and post-acute care arrangements.
Assist with specialized procedures like dialysis, ostomy care, or gastrostomy tube feeding while ensuring infection control practices are followed.
Engage in triage activities for urgent cases in emergency or urgent care settings, providing timely interventions for patients with trauma or infectious diseases.
Support working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays by applying tailored nursing strategies that promote safety and well-being.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all aspects of care delivery.
Requirements
Valid RN license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Must have 2 years' CCU experience and 2 years experience as a RN
Work every other weekend and every other holiday
Must live 50 miles from facility
