About This Position

Overview

As a Cath Lab Nurse, assist in critical procedures such as angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements. Support the implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). As a Cath Lab Nurse, monitor and record vital signs, oxygen levels, and heart rhythms to prepare patients for procedures. Perform contrast injections, initiate IVs, and conduct venipuncture for specimen collection.

Requirements

Must have at least 1 year of experience in a Cath lab setting within the past 2 years.

Must have 2 years experience as a RN

Must have stepdown/PCU experience.

Must have travel experience.

Must possess ARRT certification.

Must have current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC).

Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Must have ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Must be able to document patient responses accurately, and note all changes in physician orders.

Must be able to assist physicians with examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Must have ability to obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient status, and intervene as necessary.

Must be capable of administering medications and managing intravenous infusions and blood products.

Must be able to deliver competent patient care and interact appropriately with patients and families.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Must have some computer skills.

Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.

Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues.

Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from an approved program (Preferred)
