Position Overview
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to support students in school settings throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
In this role, the LVN will provide a variety of nursing services that promote student health, safety, and academic success. Responsibilities may include medication administration, health office support, student assessments, management of chronic health conditions, emergency response, and collaboration with school staff, families, and healthcare providers. LVNs may support individual students, classrooms, specialized programs, or the overall student population depending on district needs.
This position is ideal for nurses who enjoy working with children and adolescents while making a meaningful impact in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing services and health support to students throughout the school day
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders, district policies, and state regulations
Monitor student health conditions and respond appropriately to illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies
Assist with implementation of student health plans, including IEPs, 504 Plans, and Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
Support students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, and severe allergies
Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, families, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs
Promote student wellness, injury prevention, and health education initiatives
Assist with health screenings, immunization tracking, and communicable disease prevention as assigned
Ensure services are delivered within the LVN scope of practice and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment for all students
Minimum Qualifications
Current California LVN license in good standing
Current CPR certification (if applicable)
One year of nursing experience preferred
School-based and/or pediatric nursing experience preferred
Current TB clearance (Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray, if applicable)
Current Health Certificate (per contract or state requirements)
Knowledge of and compliance with professional nursing standards of practice
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Must meet all district, state, and federal employment requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a school, pediatric, public health, or community health setting
Experience supporting children and adolescents with diverse medical and educational needs
Familiarity with Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), IEPs, and 504 accommodations
Experience administering medications and managing chronic health conditions in a school setting
Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to adapt to changing student and campus needs in a fast-paced environment
